Scripture Reading
Psalm 113
1 Praise the LORD.
Praise, O servants of the LORD,
praise the name of the LORD.
2 Let the name of the LORD be praised,
both now and forevermore.
3 From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets,
the name of the LORD is to be praised.
4 The LORD is exalted over all the nations,
his glory above the heavens.
5 Who is like the LORD our God,
the One who sits enthroned on high,
6 who stoops down to look
on the heavens and the earth?
7 He raises the poor from the dust
and lifts the needy from the ash heap;
8 he seats them with princes,
with the princes of their people.
9 He settles the barren woman in her home
as a happy mother of children.
Praise the LORD.
Psalm 114
1 When Israel came out of Egypt,
the house of Jacob from a people of foreign tongue,
2 Judah became God's sanctuary,
Israel his dominion.
3 The sea looked and fled,
the Jordan turned back;
4 the mountains skipped like rams,
the hills like lambs.
5 Why was it, O sea, that you fled,
O Jordan, that you turned back,
6 you mountains, that you skipped like rams,
you hills, like lambs?
7 Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord,
at the presence of the God of Jacob,
8 who turned the rock into a pool,
the hard rock into springs of water.
Message
The two psalms that we read today are routinely read at the Passover Seder. They are psalms of praise to Father/Mother God for the great reversal of fortune that Passover commemorates. One moment the Hebrews were slaves and the next they were free. The "needy" were lifted from the "ash heap." This is the great message of this day. The Father/Mother protects, saves, and guides the chosen ones to a new life.
The first passover was the ending of an era. The Egyptian priests had developed a religion that provided the rulers and themselves with absolute power and enslaved others. The Father and Mother could not allow such a system to continue. A path to a new world was created. However, the transition from one world paradigm to another is never easy. It is like a birth and before any birth, there are birthing pains. There were the 10 plagues culminating in the pass over sacrifice of the firstborn. After that, the Hebrew children wandered for 40 years in the wilderness while time and trials winnowed out the true chosen ones... the ones destined to cross Jordan to the promised land.
Unfortunately, through man's corruption, the promised land quickly reverted to status quo. For a short while, Isreal was a country ruled by Father God and His Bride, Shekinah would descend upon the tabernacle to commune with Her children. Then the Hebrews decided they needed a king like all other countries. And the priest built a temple and a worship system that provided them with status and power. There remained a few that did not submit to the new system. There is always a remnant...the chosen ones. These Essenes stayed separate and apart. They continued to worship Father and Mother God in an un-corrupt manner away from the temple in Jerusalem. Their communities were scattered about Judea in the desert, at Mount Carmel and to the north in Nazareth.
Out of their ranks, Father and Mother sent their Essence in Human form, Yeshua, to usher in yet another new era. Again, the change did not come easily. This time it required the crucifixion of Yeshua, martyrdom of his disciples, and eventually the destruction of Jerusalem and its corrupt temple. The old things passed away, and all became new (again).
Then once again, man intervened. The Roman Empire adopted the Christian religion. The council of Nicea tried to make the diverse independent communities of believers into a uniform church. They formed a set of beliefs and Holy Scripture, by committee and compromise. This set the foundation for one Catholic church. Whenever one group has a monopoly on a commodity, there is corruption. In this case the commodity was eternal life. This has always been the ultimate commodity and can create absolute power. Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
As always, our Father and Mother God maintain a remnant of truth in this world. Holy words remained in the scripture in spite of the committees. And the Holy words that were removed were hidden in caves in the desert by the chosen ones to be unearthed at the correct moment...to pave the way for the next new era.
That era is now upon us. The birthing pains have started. Yeshua spoke of some of the preparatory pains required. He said, "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places." He also said There will be great...pestilence and fearful events and great signs from heaven." The war in Iraq and Afghanistan, increase in natural disasters, even the economic collapse of this past year are just labor pains.
Past is prologue. As in previous world paradigm shifts, Father and Mother have put in place the chosen ones. They are the enlightened ones whose eyes are opened or will be opened shortly. They will be be protected through the pestilence by the Father and guided through the wilderness by the light of the Mother and will cross into the next promised land. Old things will pass away and all will become new...again.
I invite you now to close your eyes and quietly thank our Father and Mother for opening your eyes.
Communion Prayer
Father God, as we prepare to eat the bread of communion with You, we are reminded of Your bountiful provision for Your children.
Holy Spirit Mother, as we prepare to drink the blessed wine, we are reminded of the blessing of Your presence poured out upon us.
Lord Yeshua, as we fulfill Your command to partake in this act, we do so in remembrance of Your sacrifice that made the Way available to us.
Communion
While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, "Take and eat; this is my body."
(Break a piece of Matzah and eat.)
Closing Prayer
Our Father and Mother
